Orange Show Speedway works toward economical
excitement with announcement of Volunteer Program
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – During a tough economy,
where racers and fans look to save, Orange Show Speedway continues to
listen and today announced the implementation of a new Volunteer Program.
The OSS Racer’s Auxiliary is a comprehensive plan to utilize friends
and family members within the racing community. The goal of the Orange
Show Speedway Racers Auxiliary (OSSRA) is to provide a family-oriented
environment by making it more affordable to the racers and their families
to attend while additionally creating assistance for Orange Show Speedway
off-site and track activities. The structure of scheduled volunteers
is to provide representation from as many divisions participating that
evening, as possible. In that way, volunteers will get every opportunity
to see their family member’s racing activities. Joe Ganino, Director
of Motorsports at OSS, feels that the program will bring the fans and
the drivers even closer together;
“There is no better spokesperson for the speedway than the
families who commit so much time and effort to be here to race. They
are the heart and soul of any racetrack and this will provide some relief
for some of our racing families as well as promote and maintain our
mission for a family environment. We hope that this helps some of the
family members that might not regularly come out to the track, as well
as provide some additional support at the speedway. Fans will interact
with our volunteers and create a personal attachment to the drivers.
”
Those looking to get involved with the OSSRA can call the race office
Monday thru Friday at 909-888-6788, extension 438. Auxiliary members
will be asked to fill out the necessary paperwork and meet prior to
race season to develop a schedule for the members. Applications for
OSSRA will be available on Monday, April 8 forward at the OSS offices.
With Opening Day on April 19th, OSS will hold open practices prior to
opening night for any of the divisions participating at OSS. Upcoming
open practices will give our drivers and officials plenty of opportunities
to fill out any necessary paperwork, Submit their ASA Memberships or
have vehicles inspected for safety and rules compliance.
Orange Show Speedway is a proud member of the ASA Member Track program,
which is comprised of a network of short tracks around the United States.
